Top ten villains #6 Cybermen

Well, well, well.Big shock I finally put a doctor who villain on this list.Surprised I didn't just say top ten doctor who villains.Enough of my self deprication cause I love the cybermen.

And no not JUST cause of this picture but It certainly helps

the cybermen are one of the doctor's oldest enemies and my god have they gone through the biggest evolution from the incredible design of nowadays to the original which looked like a man with a sock on his head.credit given they were serioulsy creepy with how they were done so I do have to say even when looking goofy they are intimidating which is a big plus. The classic cybermen were human beings who moved to a tenth planet behind pluto.(Fuck you scientists pluto is a planet goddammit!!) and created the cybermen suits to live on the planet without freezing to death. While more machine then man I like to think they still have human minds making them more robotic humans then robots.

This was before the voices were synthisized but I can still say they were pretty cool in revenge of the cybermen. And that's all I'll say about tom baker's run until I finish.

While i do like the classic cybermen the Revived cybermen are one of the reasons why I got into doctor who.the cybus industries model was created in an alternate universe as a solution to limited lifespans of humans.of course things got way the hell out of hand and a tuxedoed david tennant was the only person to stop them. But no that was not the one I first saw the first time I saw them was in my favorite story in doctor who history. The army of ghosts and doomsday.

I mean look at this.LOOK AT THIS!! This sight gave many old school fans one hell of a nerdgasm and my god is it understandable.

This was the third story I ever saw the first two being love and monsters, and fear her.I love this story. And alot of the reason is the daleks and cybermen interacting. And while the daleks came out looking better from that story the cybermen looked pretty good too.I mean really these guys are the cookie cutter,THE mold for robotic life in sci fi.Alot of people consider the borg the best and my god do I disagree.

The cybermen are in my opinion the greatest robotic army of all time.Seriously just watch any episode featuring them and you will agree. The first and greatest robotic force in sci fi.....cause the daleks aren't robots.....I'll get to them.

EDIT:I realize I didn't say that much about these guys but really how do you describe something like the first robotic force in sci fi? I compare it to describing red to a blind person It's just something you have to see for yourself

So.....anyone else wanna see more of these two?

Seriously these two.Vastra and jenny from a good man goes to war.Seriously what's their relationship? How did they meet?We know how vastra knows the doctor he stopped her from killing construction workers that she thought had killed her silurian sisters but I'm still really curious.I mean seriously tell me you would not watch a spinoff of doctor who starring two katana wielding possibly lesbian warriors in victorian london one of of which is a lizard woman who by the way ate jack the ripper. For the love of god someone give them a spinoff or at least a comic or game or something for gods sake.

Chameleon circuit,the 4th doctor's run,and higurashi kira

okay a few quick things I wanna get out since I don't know nearly enough to make an informed or lengthy discussions about so this is gonna be quick on all fronts.

first off is a band I got into a while back called chameleon circuit. Now of course as the name implies the band is based on doctor who.their songs all involve certain episodes or something about the doctor. While some songs are really simplistic or for fun but they all seem really nicely put together and usually have a nice tempo or beat to them. They're definitely a fun band.

some songs though are really epic and thematic namely tracks like an awful lot of running(the main beat of which is the main theme and is just beautiful.) or like exterminate regenerate (A track based on the war between doctor and the daleks...I think.Evidence says daleks to me sounds more like the master just how some things are worded but I'm rambling)

I was asked to mention the new album still got legs.My response.....new album? I checked it out afterwords and it sounds pretty well the same but more....how do I word this....progressed? You can easily tell the band from sound alone but it sounds just more like natural progression for a band.I think that made sense so I'll leave it at give 'em a shot I enjoy them alot as a fan of the doctor and even otherwise with some tracks

Secondly I have started watching tom baker's run as the doctor and while I don't know enough right now to make a definite decision on the run or the doctor things are looking good.

Third......oh dear god......After watching higurashi no naku koro ni I can say It's one of my favorite anime of all time. The second season kai not as good on an individual level but brilliant nonetheless.the Ova reiI dug it but not nearly as much as the first two and as for the fan service in it....well I'm not one to hate fan service for a serious series so I didn't dislike it plus there was a serious series in there too so It was okay

A few weeks back I saw a poster for higurashi kira and thought well here comes rei version 2.0.....oh god no....the trailer may have killed all hope For this series for me.It looks like nothing but fan service which again okay but...my god this is going too far.A friend of mine who takes the term seriously said It looks like hentai and I can't disagree.I will watch it as a fan and for hope it's not as bad as it seems but may god have mercy on me><

My thoughts on the doctor who tv movie

I wanted to do this before I started up the revived series review and I was even debating putting this in with it but it's not really the revived series even if you could argue it is.Now I won't get into the story but I do like it this is more about the characters really and three in particular.

Grace holloway

Ah grace she's gotta be the hardest nut to crack in doctor who history. She took forever to accept the doctor as an alien and in the movie was a bit too long but at the same time fair enough though she knew he had two hearts so maybe she should have been a bit more accepting of it a bit sooner but I do like her.The end of the movie has issues with her death.namely she comes back because of a pretty odd deus ex machina and while I like the story it gave her character it was kind of cheesy. Also funny story she has the same name as the woman who took care of eleanor lamb in bioshock 2 while lamb was in jail.

The master

When I first saw eric roberts in the movie I recognized him and thought oh must be a cool little sidekick kinda like rory and about 20 minutes in I'm crapping my pants cause I'm really not sure what to think of this.To his credit he does do a good job seeming sinister but being the only american born and raised actor playing a major role in doctor who and with that outfit all I can really think of is.....

Jeremy Irons WHYYYY!!!!

To be fair his acting is nowhere near as bad but still It just seems odd to me so point to eric roberts point against the casting agents.

Slight edit Perhaps I didn't make this clear at first but Eric roberts...I don't mind his acting.I know alot of people think his acting in this is pretty bad and while I can't disagree It doesn't bother me as much as it does other people.Plus I've sat through some bad acting before and this doesn't quite scrap the bottom (See jeremy irons picture above)

The Eight Doctor
Hello paul mcgann.I like this guy even though in the movie there was next to no real relax time to have him just ramble on like the rest. But he seems like the most gentle doctor I've ever seen.between his more human side and the fact I don't think he was quite done cooking ala matt smith so I don't quite know how his brain was state wise but he seemed better once he got his memory back.I really like this guy he's so polite you kinda can't dislike him.but compared to 10 or 11 he's just not quite as epic and grandios.which in a movie could have worked but I won't be too bad.I'd say on par with 9.

Top 10 Villains #7 Sofia lamb

Okay first off before I get to #7 I just want to point out something.Originally 7 was meant to be beatrice from umineko no naku koro ni but upon thinking about it while certainly evil she just didn't seem to fit with my idea. She is a great villain but I started thinking of someone who could actually fit there a bit better and more appropriate for what I think makes a great villain.

And now we get to the second point.Bioshock.I F**king love bioshock(Yeah I self censor myself when it comes to cussing unless I'm pissed long story) Seriously I always hear of how the system shock series blows this out of the water and I wonder how.The characters, the setting of course and I don't care what anyone says the twists in bioshock and bioshock 2:Minerva's den were spectacular,And can someone explain why in god's name bioshock 2 is generally disliked.Anyways that's another rant but I'm here to talk about the main villain of 2 Sofia lamb

Or As I like to call her miss tight britches.Seriously this chick needs to get laid
