Top Ten Villains round 2. #1 The Ultimate Villain.

Yeah I know I'm being vague but work with me here.

Another end of the list and another big bad that I think takes the cake and before I reveal it I want to point something out. This one....This villain is something That I never wavered on being number one and I have no issue that between both lists and even among villains yet to come this hateful yet adorable contender is gonna be hard to take down. The comedic humor of Dr Nefarious. The Recklessness of The God of Revels Xenagos. The Ruthlessness of Medusa. The Arrogance of Handsome Jack. The Sheer intimidation and lack of humanity of Lucifer. The Size of Thanos. The Impact Of Ultron. The Insanity of The Master and The Cold methods of Scarecrow.

Who else But the True Ultimate Villain.

The Ultimate Despair.

 #1 Monokuma

TITANIC SPOILERS FOR THE WHOLE FRANCHISE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

WHO the hell else was I going to put here? Johan Liebert? Well I'll get to him later. I mean really If you've played Any of the Danganronpa games you know as well as I do how massive this villain is. I mean his design is meant to be a mockery of mascot's like teddie but it does have the same iconic effect. It's simple and memorable. It is literally an icon.

Let me set the story for you.

A group of teenagers going to a school for the best at what they are. Wake up years later with their memories erased of what happened since they got here and the only thing they know is that they are barricaded into the school and a deranged mechanical teddy bear has forced them into a game. If they want out of the school then they have no choice but to murder someone and not be found guilty in the investigation. Throughout all of this he's keeping them fed and making sure they're not in danger of being hurt by anything except each other.

This of course includes things like throwing different motives at everyone to make them want to get out. Including showing them special videos more or less saying their loved ones are in severe danger, to making it seem like there's a traitor among them to literally just offering them a bribe to kill someone. The whole time though he's been broadcasting them killing each other to the world to prove that even the best of the best are mindless killers when pushed. So why aren't the police coming to rescue them? Well...

Well He kinda caused the apocalypse through a massive cult of despair, and I mean who wouldn't follow this guy? He's hilarious. Voiced by Brian Beacock (Takato from digimon tamers. Sorry for your loss of childhood) He brings an immense joy to the role and honestly it's like watching Mark Hamill perform the joker. It's one of the most joyful villain performances ever and it's a massive MASSIVE part of why he's this high on the list. It's an insane amount of fun to watch and you can tell he had a blast doing it. That being said there is another part to this.

For the record I already said massive spoilers so...you've been warned.

It's revealed that the Junko Enoshima from the beginning of the game that died was in fact Mukuro Ikusaba. Her twin sister who she killed effectively to take the pressure off of herself and so she could control monokuma without having to worry about anything else and knowing her for shits and giggles. Junko Enoshima is the woman who started the apocalypse and the despair uprising first at hope's peak and then across most of the world literally causing chaos and death and yes despair across the world. Well except for one place but I'll get to towa island.

She Is known as both the ultimate despair and the ultimate fashionista. This is something they don't bring up but I think that has more to do with this then some think. They never explain her motives other then she's bat squeak insane, but I think the fashionista thing has something to do with all of this. Her fame, the people who look up to her (again more on that in a minute) and her charisma is what allowed her to manipulate people into joining her cult and what caused the beginning of the disaster. Her charisma and manipulation is one thing but she's got one thing very unique to her.

SHE'S FUCKING INSANE!!

What I'm about to say is in the actual and original definition of literal. She gets bored of her personality. Dead serious she actually gets bored of how she acts to the point where she rapidly and constantly switches between very odd and distinct attitudes. One second she's a queen and acts very uppity. The next a Rockstar and swears every three seconds. The next She's hyper depressed sounding. The next A super adorable one. The thing that sticks? Her desire to spread despair and cause pain and misery. For obvious reasons she's very similar to monokuma in that she is Insanely fun to watch. Just wondering what personality is gonna come out next and what exactly is gonna come out of her mouth. Here's the kicker when she's found out and she's lost she doesn't try to cheat or freak out that's she's lost. She's starts drooling with giddiness and with the exact look on her face you see above she hits the execution button and....again take it away youtube.

That it not a sane nor good woman. Even in death and absolute failure she was delighted. Because she caused herself despair. Any little bit of misery added to the world even to herself is such joy to her. That is pure evil.

Well ladies and gen......Wait. Didn't I say something about towa city and people following her?

 Also #1 Monaca Towa

JESUS CHRIST What the hell is that!? O.O

That ladies and gentlemen is what happens after Junk dies and someone takes up the mantle of ultimate despair. For a character introduced in a side game not even Dangan ronpa 2 (which did feature more added to the story, a cyber junko and in my opinion a generally better experience if you played the first game) She is basically a continuation of Junko but again I'll start at the start.

She was born into the towa family. How rich and powerful are they. They have an island named after them. That rich and powerful. Anyway the father of the family cheated on his wife and as a result Monaca was born. Her real mother abandoned her and her father and brother took her in. They never really saw her as a person though. I Suspect The mother of the family left after the cheating incident and they took that anger out on monaca. Despite her smiling and joking she was miserable. She honestly felt like dying and this is why I understand monaca a bit more then junko and why I had to at least tie her with junko.

After being physically beaten by her brother and father (Despair girls the dangan ronpa side game is FUCKING DARK!) She faked it being worse then it was and went around in a wheelchair pretending to be paralyzed and enjoyed the new attention and pity she was getting. That's when she met the others.

She met four kids at hope's peak elementary and basically well.....convinced them that herself and the other four should jump off the roof and kill themselves. she herself wouldn't but she wanted to prank them into killing themselves. Like I said. DARK. Anyway they are saved when of all people Junko saves them and basically raises them herself and convinces them to kill their own parents and join her. Monaca Knows she's being used but doesn't care as she now a major part of towa corp and manages to mass produce monokumas and weapons for the disaster while blackmailing the actual head of towa saying she'd expose to the world that while towa island was generally unaffected they were fueling the disaster the whole time alongside junko.

ARE YA STILL WITH ME!! Also my god I'm using caps lock a fuck ton on this one anyways.

After junko's death the "Warriors of hope" wanted revenge so they kidnapped Makoto's sister (Read main character of first game.....'s sister) and put her into their hunt. You see Monaca not only didn't care about revenge against adults, Revenge against Those who killed junko or even Just wanting to build a children's paradise like junko had told the kids and like the others believed. She wanted to become Junko Enoshima the second. To become her successor. To Take her place.

In this time and facing against both makoto's sister and toko fukawa from the first game her associates started dying off but with no witnesses sans the two aforementioned girls Monaca's allies didn't know it was the Monokumas taking them out not Komaru and toko. And of course only one person has control over the monokumas. Monaca. I'm guessing to prevent them from turning on her after defeat she figured "fuck 'em" and tried to kill them as they fell in combat. granted it is confirmed that they all survive til the end but still dick move. Dicker move still being how she manipulated some of them if they didn't listen. After the first two fell the third Kotoko had some doubts to which monaka responded by saying her trigger word causing her to go into a panic fit and BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF HER! When you're watching a girl with severe mental trauma getiing her ass kicked by a girl in a wheelchair you think two things. First What the hell is the problem of the one doing the beating? And second What issues were the writers trying to get out of their system?!

But that's not even it. Secondly she tried to seduce the 4th kid and by god it worked. I won't even get into that bag of confused and angry cats but that's not even the grand plan with her. Her idea as it was from the beginning was use the monokuma robots and children with Monokuma helmets who she convinced to join in the children's revolt. Her idea Was to cause all the children to kill their parents and have the remaining adults either kill the children or if they fail hell child army. What makes this even worse is that the Monokuma helmets on the kids are controlling them against their will. Strictly for the purpose of having the adults kill innocent children. And as the extra kick in the junk the controller that makes the robot assault monokuma's that have been attacking the citizens when broken will explode the helmets. Surprise she kept that to herself. And then when Komaru had the controller and wasn't going to break it. She showed her her dead parents and if it wasn't for toko The population of towa city would have shrunk drastically.

And let it be said this wasn't just to kill a bunch of kids for lolz. This was to start a war. She wanted to start a war between the one place unaffected by the disaster and the future foundation (aka the good guys) Let me be very clear on what I'm saying here with shitty ms paint.

First yes that took like five minutes and yes this is why I don't edit much. Second YES I WENT THERE!

Here's the thing I do agree the johan is a great villain but his main issue really is the fact that for all the massive evil manipulative things he does he does a lot of jack in that series too. He's kind of like kefka. Awesome while he's there but not there enough. As for Monaca she has a few cutscenes in each chapter of the game. Dangan ronpa has it's issues but the villains are not it. Monaca and Junko are both Incredible villains and both as well as Monokuma deserve positions At the top. And with Dangan Ronpa 3 on the way, Junko being an AI inside two robotic bears and Monaca possibly becoming the new main villain. Why Do I say this?

That's ominous.

Top Ten Villains round 2 #2 Scarecrow

Spoilers for Arkham knight and possibly some other batman related stuff as well.

So....I started this countdown again because enough time had passed and between the first one and now that My opinions had changed fairly drastically and quite a few new villains had popped up. And of course one of the first things I did was mention how some of my choices from the first one were perhaps iffy compared to how I saw things then. One of those things was....Well trying to recall strictly from memory I think my words were

"Scarecrow? Really?"

Yeah rocksteady games decided to remind me why this villain has and still kicks a lot of ass.

First and foremost I thought arkham knight was pretty damn good but not without problems. I'd say second best in the series next to city myself but one of the highlights in the game was by a long shot the new portrayal of scarecrow who was last seen in the series being dragged into the sewers by killer croc. Suffice it to say...

He took a few dings on the way down...and yes that IS his face.

So for those not in the know Scarecrow Aka Johnathan Crane is a former Psychologist who specializes in the field of fear. He became obsessed with fear to the point of bringing a gun into a classroom he was doing a lecture at to see people's reactions. People reacted badly. Suffice to say after that stunt money came hard and he decided to use his knowledge to commit robberies and a few years of fear toxin later he's bananas.

This version of scarecrow has more of a purpose. After his short lived hobby of crocodile wrestling he came back with a much different purpose. This time he's out to reveal batman's identity and show to the world he's just a person. Not some symbol. I honestly think the scarecrow teaser does the best possible job of really putting how at least I think they intended him to come out.

Think about what he just said.

"How many bones will you crush?
How many lives will you destroy in search of what you call justice?
You are the product of everything you fear.
Violence, Darkness, Helplessness"

Between his desire to Prove batman is a hoax and that line there is why I think this villain and this version is interesting. Hell even his design is interesting. Batman himself has his ethics but uses violence and let's be honest beating the tar out of people to make them stop being dicks. Scarecrow's design in this I really hope sticks. He's not only missing god knows how much of his skin from croc but even his bones are in bad shape. His leg has a harness with metal bracers. He couldn't hit someone if he tried. A nonviolent criminal and a violent hero.

I think this version of Scarecrow is intended to be the exact polar opposite of batman. Even more then The joker who in this series seems to represent his weakness. This is why I always say I prefer scarecrow to joker and always will. But there is one more reason. His Mission in Arkham Knight was to reveal batman's identity to the world. and he did.

The end of the game has batman seeing no other option but to give himself to scarecrow to see both Gordon and robin released and in doing so he is unmasked on live television. Scarecrow Won. Even if batman did end up using his own toxin to at least for the time turn crane into a man doing an impression of a rock (Ya know cause he's curled up in an assball....cause of the toxin and fear.....ya know..yeah) The toxin will more then likely wear off eventually and the world will still know batman is just a man. The story does end on a downer note with a massive ray of hope kind of deal but that's still something huge for the villain.

While I may not dislike the joker and in fact rather like him as a villain I still kinda think that Scarecrow can be better and Arkham Knight proves this to me.

Well that brings us to the number 1 spot. I've made a lot of changes to this list since I started it but there was always one thing constant. Number 1. There was always one thing I had to put at one. One certainty. The Ultimate Villain.

Top Ten Villains Round 2 #3: The Master

I'd say spoilers but it's a little late for that....plus it's close to a year screw you.

I had to bring at least one massive villain from Doctor Who and while I adore the daleks one massive thing has changed since the last list. The Master came back and dear sweet Christmas do I realize why They should have been number 1 last time.

Now don't get me wrong the daleks are incredible villains but the master has one thing above them and that's the ability to change and reform via regeneration to keep things fresh and while we haven't had much information about the role she'll play in season 9 if it's anything like she was in 8 I will gladly take it.

First off let's go through the basics about the master for those who don't know. The master is the literal opposition of the Doctor. The Doctor chose his name as the one who helps, heals, makes people better. The Master or in the case of this Incarnation The mistress or missy took the name as someone who controls, Who Takes, and Who rules. There are also some interesting concepts to taking the name "The Mistress" But I'm not touching that with a ten foot clown pole.

Formally a best friend of the doctor They became deranged after a rite of passage; staring into a rift in the time vortex gave them a permanent sound of drumming in their head. It drove them berserk and eventually after finding out the time lords were keeping an eye on them they went rogue and spent the rest of their existence trying to conquer everything in existence and make the doctor's life a living hell. Until the end of time where the master (at the time John simm) ended up trapped on gallifrey during the time war.

And then Missy happened.

At the end of the first episode of series 8 we met a character who seemed like some kind of guardian of heaven. She welcomed a dead character into what she called heaven and called herself missy. Also she referred to the doctor as her boyfriend.....again not getting into that cause it just feels very fanfictiony to me.

But throughout the season we got glimpses of her and theories went from a guardian of the underworld, to a robot, to yes a time lord. But when the episode finally dropped where her identity was revealed as the master most people pooed themselves.

To quote myself "When I find myself in times of trouble. Steven Moffatt fucks with me" followed by about twenty idiotic sounding "WHAT THE FUCK!?" 'S

But after that episode we had one week to realize something. How is this master going to compare to the others? Let me put it this way. This is my favourite version of the master and that is saying a LOT. Missy very quickly proved herself to be both exceptionally funny but damn scary at times.

I think there is one moment we all recall being just incredible and goddamn just terrifying. The death of Osgood.

One of the main things that came out of The 50 year anniversary special "The day of the doctor" was more Information about the new UNIT group; Namely a doctor fangirl named Osgood. In the movie she wore a 4th doctor scarf, and when dealing with missy she wore a bow tie. Like I said Fangirl. She was dorky, Had an inhaler, Whole nine yards. And She was also a pretty charming character so when thinking of ways to make The returning master more threatening and well nuts Osgood's death was number 1 on the list.

The Scene is a perfect example of why missy is such a great villain. She starts off singing "Hey Mickey" then goading Osgood into coming close to whisper "I'm going to kill you in a minute" and having the most giddy smile on her face afterwards. After slipping out of her cuffs and somehow getting them into Osgood's pocket she practically teleports behind her, Kills any guards in the room and after Osgood points out how missy could use her to get to the doctor to stall for time. Missy agrees....and then kills her anyway and grinds her glasses into the ground. THAT was the moment I knew that this may well be my favourite version of the master.

She may have only been in really one episode as the master but need I remind you this is still the master. Everything, Every act the master has committed missy is guilty of. At the time of me writing this series 9 of doctor who starts in exactly 8 days and it's confirmed that missy is returning. This was exactly what I needed to get pumped for this season. Not that I was excited after series 8 but that especially for me was exactly what I needed to hear.

Now last time I did one of these lists the master was at number 2. And The daleks aren't on this list so who the hell managed to hit number 2? Well let's just say I owe someone an apology.

Top Ten Villains Round 2 #4: Ultron

 SPOILERS!!

Yeah I wasn't kidding when I said that I'd have to defend this being over thanos but I stand by my choice here.

As I have said before This is my list. I'm aware that Thanos is more powerful and a bigger villain for the avengers (though that is debatable) but I just like Ultron more but I'll get more into that after I introduce you.

Henry Pym Or Ant Man ( or like twenty other names for that matter ) Created Ultron years ago and then things got kind of confusing. Ultron made him forget he made him and then Ultron wore a red cloak and made tony stark's butler evil but not really. Ultron has a weird past is my point.

One of his past lives was also a hot water heater.

After that it's your basic AI created to protect the world decides it's easier if humans just kinda go away forever. It's fairly cliché now but back when he was created in 1968 it wasn't nearly as big of a cliché first and foremost and second he may have been one of the bigger influences to bring this idea to the mainstream. Much like Cybermen; Ultron is a huge influence on science fiction at least in my opinion.

But There are three main stories I want to quickly go over. Age of ultron,Rage of Ultron and Well....Age of ultron....the movie.

The Comic Book Age of Ultron is itself a pretty good read though slightly offput by one too many time shenanigans and would have been solved WAY earlier if wolverine wasn't a bloodthirsty dumbass but I digress.

There is one point I do want to take away from this comic though. Ultron Took over the world. That's the plot. Ultron Wins at the beginning of the book and is only really reversed by again time travel shenanigans. Now I don't know how many times or who else may have done something similar but from my admittedly minor knowledge of comics this is the only time I can think where an enemy wins and again only is reversed by time travel hoo haa. Well one other but I'll get to that later.

Well okay I'm sure that's happened lots of times in comics I mean I'm sure more psychotic stuff then that's happened.Need I say more then twin clones of hitler?

OF COURSE! Don't you know anything about obvious references to people who know more about comics then I do!?

The second again is rage of ultron. A more recent comic where Ultron is tricked and glued to a rocket and sent to Jupiter's moon titan. And we never saw him again.

Oh.....Right.

Yeah He took over the moon's tech systems or whatever was left after Number 5 had his fun. He then Decided he wanted to head back to earth since Ant-Man still owes him five bucks. Also the whole sending him to space thing. Also Evil.

I won't spoil the story but His dialogue as well as again Bringing an enormous moon and an even bigger army to earth is dedication to a whole new level and you tell me looking up and seeing that Jack o' lantern Grin coming from a moon that is barreling down on you in pretty damn impressive.

And third we have the more recent movie Avengers: Age of Ultron.

It's no secret that the marvel cinematic universe while just has some great movies, could never really get the hang of the villains. I mean loki in the thor films was pretty damn good at times but he kinda borked it when it came to the avengers movie being more of a joke. Red skull was very well acted by Hugo Weaving and could be very threatening at times but he never really did THAT much really. Then the first age of ultron trailer hit and in the first twenty seconds with one sentence I was sold.

"I'm gonna show you something beautiful....everyone screaming...for mercy."

And Immediately I was intrigued and by god he was amazing in that movie. The movie itself was damn good. Had problems but still damn good and one of the biggest reasons being Ultron. James Spader did an incredible job of making both a very funny and threatening villain. Being made by Stark and not Hank Pym this time around he's got much more of a sense of humor but is still great with his threatening....er..ness. One particular scene where he claws a man's hand off and immediately starts to apologize. I honestly wasn't sure if this was meant for laughs, to be intimidating or both.

There is one point I want to get across with this villain you don't need to be the most powerful thing in existence to be a great villain. Granted I say this like ultron is weak he's gone toe to toe with the AVENGERS Dozens of times. My point is the power of a god isn't everything. Sometimes it's the mind as we'll see with the next villain....as come to think of it are the other two.

Top ten villains round 2: #5 Thanos

Here we see Thanos doing what he does best. Shitting on your couch.....also SPOILERS!

How in the world am I going to quickly sum up and explain how good of a villain Thanos is?

Well first of all if you've read comics I don't even need to explain either and you know why this guy is on the list. He's arguably the most powerful being in anything as long as he has the infinity gauntlet and even without he's insanely powerful and a genius as well. I'll mention two stories here to explain why thanos not only deserves a spot on this list but why he's one of my favourite comic book villains.

First off I'll start with his origins because it just makes sense. Thanos was born on Jupiter's moon Titan. He's a deviant which would take me forever to explain what that is so either look it up Here. Or just trust me that it's kind of like mutants or some kind of thing like that to keep it short. Thanos' Mother took one look at her son and attempted to commit the first case of murder on titan in millennia Either because she knew he would become the avatar of death or because THIS is what he looked like

Yeah the term "BURN IT WITH FIRE" came to my mind too.

She was immediately put into an asylum and Thanos' father looked after him. However his father A'Lars was always too busy with work and with his mother bat squeak insane he mostly grew up dependant on the other kids in school for human interaction. It's no surprise that due to his appearance he was shunned by the......wait...the other kids really liked him? Huh.....lost that bet. Go figure yeah he had no problem hanging out with the other kids despite his appearance and the fact he was a bookworm. Man This titan place sounds like paradise. No murders, Everyone gets along. why don't more people go visit this place?

Oh....Ultron became it.....well. Shit.

That was long after the planet died out though and I'll get to why it did a bit later.

So absent family and lots of friends. Doesn't sound awful. Well one of his friends a girl with black hair and white marks on her face started talking to him and she convinced him to take him and his friends to a nearby cave where all except thanos and her were murdered by lizards. Well that's an unfortunate accident (cough). Afterwards the same girl when thanos was talking to a lizard of the same species convinced him to go to the cave and slaughter the whole group of the lizards for revenge. Something very unheard of on the planet. Suffice to say this girl Is a wee bit demented because yes she did plan this and she did plan for him to become one of the greatest psychopaths. She led him to not only experiment on animals and eventually people but she kept leading him until he killed his own mother and long story short would basically destroy titan after becoming the leader of a group of raiders as an adult.

Also I should mention Thanos was the only one who could see her and her name...

May have been death.

Thanos became the avatar of death as he fell in love with her. This is one of the main reasons I love this guy. He has kind of an odd Shakespearean thing going on with him being one of the most horrible and destructive villains in comics but he's doing it because of love....eh kind of. In "Thanos Rising" It's implied now it's less love and more because he has nothing else to really shoot for and he himself can't die at least not easily so he just kinda ran with it.

As for the other story that would be "Infinity Quest" Where he learns of and gathers the infinity gems and becomes the most powerful being in existence. He hunts down each of these powerful cosmic entities and manages to trick them into getting their gem. The final gem he needed was held by a man named the grand master he was an expert on games of chance and skill and had a set up so that if Thanos either lost or tried to kill the grandmaster he would teleport the last gem into the middle of a wormhole. If he won the gem was Thanos' to keep. He competed in a virtual combat game. ( You can't say you didn't just picture him playing call of duty and getting whomped by an 8 year old.) When Thanos would lose due to the Grandmaster cheating and purposely giving thanos worse weapons and the Grandmaster would vaporize him. But Thanos made sure a clone played and thanos took the teleport device and killed him taking the gem.

Thanos is a genius. He is ruthless and unstoppable....except for the times he was stopped. Much like Lucifer the only reason he's this low on the list is really due to personal preference of the 4 ahead of him. And Believe me Once number 4 is unveiled Believe me that Is going into full effect.

Top 10 Villains Round 2: #6 Lucifer

SPOILERS!!

So uh yeah it's been a bit since I did one of these. Work and life has been getting pretty heavily in the way and As you may know if you saw my cliff-hanger from the handsome jack review this doesn't match the tease. Well in the time I was introduced to a HUGE amount of new villains and the original six; Arkham from DMC3 just didn't match. I hate changing the numbers mid list but I just could not keep some of them in. Sorry about that.

I just want to point out that when on a top ten list of villains when THE DEVIL is number 6, That brings a lot of hope towards number 5.

Ladies and gentlemen if you haven't seen Supernatural give it a shot....just ignore the cliff-hanger at the end of season 5 and assume the series ended cause after that things start going a little bit stupid. Suffice to say that eve will NOT be on this nor will she EVER!!...Sorry that gets me a little worked up. Where was I?

Right Supernatural. A good enough series has some issues but generally a good time. As the series went on they started going from general monsters. (vampires, werewolves, bloody mary myths legends that kind of stuff) to more religious things like demons and angels. After they went to that there was only one more villain they could really bring in and have massive presence.

They already signed Mark Sheppard so they went to the next best thing. The Devil.

At the end of season 4 Lucifer was unleashed and the first thing he needed to do is find a host. He finds a man down on his luck. A man named nick whose wife and child were murdered by an intruder and Lucifer suffice to say has a fun job of sticking his finger in the wound. Making him hallucinate seeing himself covered in blood, Seeing his dead wife and probably one of the big reasons he's on this list making him see his deceased child inside of it's crib and about in the same shape it was in last time he saw it.

I'll spare you the image of the crib pouring blood out of it.....mostly cause I can't find the image.

I know we're talking about the devil here but that scene immediately hit me upon re-watching the episode (might I add one of the first in the season if not the first) that they are not messing around with this guy and that they wanted to make sure they created a villain worthy of the name "Lucifer"

He pops up a fair amount of times during season 5 to keep thing interesting but he always has such a calm mocking tone to him except the few times either his angel brethren or the even fewer times he calms down and actually tries to reason with Michael. But his tone and his very arrogant but still oddly fun to watch performance is due to two people. Normally Mark Pellegrino and during the end of the series Jared Padalecki. Yes He is damn menacing, He does thing during the season and doesn't just bugger off somewhere (Cough Kefka Cough) and the main thing he wanted during the season was his true vessel he gets. He takes over the body of one of the main characters and honestly if it wasn't for one thing making sam take back his mind long enough to seal Lucifer he would've won and in some ways he did cause he essentially killed one of the main characters.

I CAN'T SEE YOU!! >.<

Seriously though yes I know that he came back but I'll be honest I call ass pull just to keep the series going.

So he does everything right, He's a perfect example of a villain and he in a sense wins. Why in gods name is he at number 6? Well two reasons. First This is my list and maybe some of the villains coming up may not be better done but I like the style or design better. Second Like I said the idea of him being in sam's body and sealed in the cage is one thing but sam then coming out with no soul then with a soul and Lucifer mentally hounding him was again an ass pull and even with Lucifer being once again quite sadistic it just doesn't hit the same note and honestly kind of sours it. At least in my opinion and very slight recollection of season 6 and 7.

Lucifer is a fantastic villain though. Everything hits the right note but again just some minor things and the odd resurrection later on just seems off. Again this is all my opinion and I know those things may seem minor but It's just how I see it. As for the next villain we have coming up...well Lucifer isn't the only villain aquatinted with death.

The top ten villains Round 2 #7 Handsome jack

You want to hear a story? About a massive asshole cause this fucking guy is one of the biggest I've ever seen. This guy is what happens when you take an obsessive lunatic and someone with way too much money and combine them and oh dear god does it come out genius.

One of the reasons this is coming out as late as it is is mostly due to work cramping my time but also due to the newly released Borderlands Pre sequel Giving a lot more information about him and I'm glad I waited because this guy started off a fair bit different. He was honestly just a half way decent guy trying to prove his worth to his boss whom he hates. What's funny though is slowly through the pre sequel he turns from the half way nice guy to a complete self absorbed lunatic once He gets a taste for blood and his own paranoia takes over.

He went from risking his life and giving huge compliments to in Self-Defense killing the Meriff (That's mayor and sheriff....just go with it) But still getting that taste for blood to killing multiple innocent people believing one of them to maybe be a spy for the enemy. It sounds like a jump and maybe that is a leap but you still kinda feel for the guy since he is still doing it to save the moon's population. Now near the end of the game once his allies (the good guys from borderlands 2) betray him he goes full on berserk goes for the Alien vault on the moon and after lillith (again good guy from 1 and 2) Punches an eridium artifact into his face scarring the symbol into his face he goes full on lunatic learning about an ancient beast that could sear the entire planet of pandora and destroy all life on it making it perfect for his newly acquired company (after he strangled his former and aforementioned boss and took the company ) Hyperion to move in and make the planet civilized.

What makes jack ( now calling himself handsome jack) Interesting is that this whole time he refers to himself as the hero. He never really thinks what he's doing is wrong. He never once thought there were innocent people on pandora and only ever thought of the bandits and the killers. There is a part where he pretty tortures a scientist but in his own words

"But I let her live. Because that's what a hero does. He shows mercy"

Of course then there is the elephant in the room with debating jack and what really makes him a villain.

His daughter angel.

Angel was a character that helped the cast from the first game out and as for the second well she helped them out but half way through she reveled herself to be on jack's side and betrayed them mostly due to the fact she had no choice. When jack realized his daughter was a siren ( a being with both powers and a connection to the alien vaults ) He actually connected her to a computer system so she can use any hyperion technology from any distance. Problem is it's more like he enslaved her into the machine since she had no problem not only telling her father off, Helping the good guys, and actually sacrificing herself to help the good guys. Jack responds by Enslaving lillith as his new siren and killing her boyfriend. Jack does not take bad news well.

Odd thing is though he was incredibly protective of her even when she did betray him. Again it's like he's trying to be a good guy but his immense lust for power is getting in the way. This though I think cements the villain side though. Enslaving your own child who just wants to help and hooking them up to a computer for what I can assume is for the rest of their life just to help his own plans for domination of one planet and possibly the universe. The man is clearly over the edge.

So he's a rich and psychotic man with the knowledge to rule or destroy the universe. Pretty high on the villain list already but there is another thing with jack; his personality. Handsome jack is charismatic and this comes through beautifully. He is Hilarious. very early on in the game he not only taunts you about how you're poor or psychotic or what have you but there is a running joke about him buying a diamond pony....not a statue but a living diamond pony he at first wants to name piss for brains in honor of the player but eventually decides on butt stallion.

He's also prone to being actually pretty threatening sometimes. One audio log has a butler come in while he's choking someone and he ends up having an argument about the difference between choking and strangling. In a later log where he's talking to his boss he politely asks if he knows the difference. He can be threatening for a rich arrogant jackass surprisingly so and in fact he's just a damn good villain.

Top ten villains round 2 # 8 Medusa gorgon

I've mentioned at number ten a villain so goofy yet effective You have to enjoy him in Dr Nefarious. And a devious yet very deranged rollicker and lover of fun at any cost in Xenagos. Now however we get into a different kind of villain. The one you love to hate.

If you've seen my review of soul eater you may recall I mentioned Medusa Gorgon
and her offspring Crona. Now while medusa is in her present actions more or less a twisted scientist who experiments with people both mentally and physically. Now I love this kind of villain and fun fact The name of this blog site is named after the bleach chapter that introduced a similar character in Mayuri Kurotsuchi.

Love this villain but I've long since stopped paying attention to bleach so uh let's just get back to business.

Like I said Medusa is a scientist determined to spread madness and one of the ways she has is by using her own child as someone to spread it against their will. Lemme describe Crona gorgon to prove just how fucked up medusa is. Keep in mind medusa made crona this way.

Keep in mind this is an anime so the pink hair is normal.

First of all they are insanely skinny and seem to be malnourished. This is proven in the fact that during a flashback it's shown they were basically kept in a small black room around the age of five to kind of convince them to do what they're told and fed little. Some of which gets eaten by that thing on their head. that thing on their head is raganrok. Ragnarok is their blood. It is a weapon (weapons meaning a living being that can turn into a weapon in this context) who was melted down in weapon form and mixed with her blood. So it's not just her own offspring she's a dick to.

Medusa basically fused a bully into their blood that steals their food and hits them but here's the kicker. Who knows what other things they did because crona....well

I think I used this joke before but eh.

They have no gender. The english dub says it's a guy but they also said that they did this to avoid calling them an "It" which they said would be disrespectful. They with lack of a better term mutated their own child to cause them to become deranged and turned their blood into a weapon just so they could become a demon god (or kishin)

One of the other things with Medusa is their ability to manipulate people. I mean their child is one thing but they also disguised them self as a nurse in the weapon school to experiment with them as well. Because mutating their own child for personal gain just wasn't enough she wanted to experiment on EVERYONE ELSE'S TOO!!

And not just kids. She seduces another teacher named stein (and yes it's a Frankenstein joke) who was already a bit wobbly on the sanity part and tries to bring them to the dark side. tricking another witch into believing shibusen (said weapon school) killed their sister when they did. threatening to kill a somewhat innocent witch name Eruka who is scared out of her mind most of the time because of her. She forces crona against their will to implant a magic hex inside of stein girlfriend which warps him even more so. Dies.....then comes back by possessing a little girl. Betrayed her own sister leaving her for death ( to be fair on that one her sister arachne is kind of a bitch too but nowhere the uncrowned queen here.)

Here's the kicked though. She evantually takes arachne's body for her own once the little girl becomes more of a hassle to her ( she was okay in both versions but she did use her as a kind of hostage) she then fucks around for a while (fusing her child with a being of pure madness and helping to turn a priest to the dark side as well may I add ) And makes crona basically nuke a town in russia. afterwards she in a weird moment...

Welcomes them home in a loving manner and makes them their favorite food?

What happens here is up to debate but in the end this was the final straw for crona. I sincerely doubt that they just became good but crona's actions were to her delight anyway. Crona snapped and killed medusa with her last words being " I love you" Whether it was to cause such a whiplash they'd go nuts and kill her and emphasize their guilt to make it worse even after (kill me and taint yourself how very johan/joker of you) or not is again debatable but considering her it wouldn't surprise me at all.

The only real downside to medusa as a villain is that she never really gives a reason for why she wants to spread chaos other then she's so smart she's insane but honestly she's so determined in her mission to spread chaos that she'd do anything. romantic manipulation, Mutating children including her own child. manipulating innocents and semi innocents (seriously what is your deal eruka) and then the very johan-esque death just to make her child even more deranged.

Jesus christ what a bit...

O.O

She also makes this face....intimidation....forgot to mention that one.

Top ten Villains round 2 #9 Xenagos The god of revels.

Well I have some splainin' to do. First of all my apologies for my absence as of late. work has been rather rough lately that combined with some personal issues let's just say march and April are not favorite months of mine. Second of all I though I said I was going to crack open the doctor who bag early. Well I was originally going to put Mr. clever here but...well first off I just heard the booing of that decision considering how most people reacted to him but second while I do love the character I honestly couldn't think of much else to say other then " He's really fun to watch bravo to Matt smith." So consider him Number 9.5

Seriously that look says it all.

But onto the case at hand. Xenagos is a planeswalker from theros and.....Oh....I may need to explain somethings here. Xenagos is from magic the gathering. You may find it odd including a villain from a card game. It may sound odd but if you aren't a fan of magic you wouldn't know the storylines from their sets can be pretty damn good if you look into it. Case in point Theros. Theros is a plane from the MTG based on greek myth. As such gods play a massive part and Xenagos is one of them. Xenagos started as just a satyr a creature content in rollicking and frolicking through the hills Until his spark ignited. A planeswalker is a being from MTG that can travel to other planes. Xenagos awoke to this power when said spark ignited and through traveling to other planes he realized something horrifying to him. His existence was meaningless in the massive scheme of things and the gods reach meant nothing outside of Theros. This caused him to become a lot more ambitious with the powers he had gained and knowledge he had learned. He not only wanted to become a god but to become the only god in theros by wiping the rest out.

So you may be wondering what powers does xenagos have?  He has the power of revel. The power to stir things into a frenzy and to cause the frenzied to become even more enraged and psychotic.

Whoop de doo tarantula town right?

I mean being able to frenzy things is one thing but this isn't that powerful is it? Well tell that the three major cities in theros that got the shit kicked out of them by frenzied monsters. The main one to focus on is Akroas. Akroas got attacked by minotaurs not frenzied by xenagos but by the god of slaughter mogis. Xenagos waited though for the sun god heliod's champion another planeswalker elspeth to win and when the victory was acheived (at great loss ) The survivors held a victory celebration which xenagos amplified using his magic. Using a ritual and the energy of the grand revel as it became known he used the power to ascend to godhood as the god of revels.

Think about that for a second. Using outer plane magic which the gods have no power over and causing massive chaos to blind the gods by either killing or wounding the oracles of each other god so they couldn't see what happened or what he was planning. Then basically waiting for another powerful being to win a simple victory against angry minotaurs then using the victory celebration to ascend to godhood. In other words...

Xenagos threw such a bitchin party he became a god!

Now granted because the stories are a bit vague It's hard to tell whether he timed his attack with the minotaurs or whether he frenzied them or whether mogis sent them in in time with the chaos it's the main reason he's this low because There are a lot of unknowns in this. Hell After elspeth got blamed for causing xenagos' ascension she would later find the spear godsend and kill xenagos. Some believe this was all according to the plans of erebus the god of the dead to gain either the soul of a god or that of elspeth. again a lot of unknowns. But because of this there is some leeway for interpretation. Between that and the fact that when he became a god he went about wrecking as much shit in theros as possible. He used his power to frenzy everything he could get his hands on and try to disrupt the gods as much as possible and before elspeth put an end to him he may have weakened the gods enough to overtake them I believe that xenagos is just a genius villain perhaps a little overdependent on other things going well but everything went so perfectly I have to enjoy this god of revels.

Also he BECAME A GOD THROUGH PARTYING!!! That's seriously badass I'm sorry it just is.....Ahem....sorry got a little carried away there....anyways next time I've got someone I've mentioned in passing before and the fact xenagos is from a greek setting seems appropriate for this cold hearted snake at number 8.

Top ten Villains Round 2 # 10 Dr nefarious and/or Alister azimuth

That's right ladies and gentlemen. When I first started this blog I Did a top ten list of my favorite villains. And looking back there are a few choices I have to change. Cybermen and The silence? Scarecrow? That chick from bioshock 2 Really? (Though I still say Bioshock 2 was a good game) Some decisions are hard to defend and Honestly better villains have come and gone since then so I'm doing Round 2 of my favourite villains and this time I Mean it....Well until a few more years go by anyway. But a few rules. First off With one exception one villain per franchise. So while there are two doctor who villains that's the worst It'll get. Second this is just my opinion I want to make this clear. I know some people hate villains I like and for that matter games I like (see bioshock 2 again) so take this with a grain of salt. Third and finally no ties....Stop looking at the title I'll get to that in a second.

By which I mean now.

Dr nefarious

And Alister Azimuth

Remember how I said no ties. This isn't a tie. While Dr nefarious was in multiple games in the ratchet and clank series Crack in time and Up your arsenal are both amazing  and partially because of him. He's an absolute rush and partially due to amazing Voice acting done by Armin Shimmerman. Yes the same person who voices Andrew Ryan from Bioshock Voices Dr nefarious. I'm still incredibly impressed by that.

What gets me about nefarious is that He's clearly an idiot but he still manages to pull some impressive things off. Namely nearly taking over An enormous Time machine at the center of the universe (give or take a few meters) And turned half the occupied universe into robots through what I can only describe as Scientific brute force. He's smart enough to Create amazing weapons and then forgets to plug them in. This makes him an absolute joy to watch. And while you may say he's A terrible villain because of that and I can't argue but at the same time he has done some impressive things like I mentioned earlier.

"But Immortal K..." You ask because you don't know my real name is Chris. "...Why is Alister here? he's a good guy." Alister Azimuth is a good guy but He's also the final boss of Crack in time after Nefarious. Much like Doctor nefarious He wanted to Abuse the great clock. Unlike Nefarious Who wants to use it to take over the world, Alister Wants to use it to bring the lombax race back from another dimension. For those Not familiar with ratchet and clank This may sound a lot like Doctor who and the time lords.....you aren't wrong. Anyway using the clock could cause immense damage to the universe so Clank won't allow it causing the conflict between Ratchet and Alister. He tries to take it by force and this is why He's on this list. He would possibly Destroy the only other member of his race for a chance to bring it back. If you saw The time of the doctor think about it this way. What if the doctor had to kill someone to bring back the time lords....and he did? While Alister was a general and murder isn't as much of a thing for him the crime is still there. So why are they both listed at Number 10?

Both of these two fit different roles and yet the same. They both Want to use the clock which is not a good thing. One is Directly evil but the other isn't. They show two sides of the mind. That both good and evil can end up wanting the same ends sometimes. That's fascinating to me and I think the story of A crack in time to be amazing because of that. Good villains make a good story and both of these whether or not they're evil are Antagonists in the end And to me that makes them villains. One defiantly and one arguably. Regardless both of them together make an amazing combination.

As for my Number 9?....Well let's crack open the doctor who bag early shall we?

minor update to the silence

I did a small update to the number four spot for the silence but it's nothing major just basically updated to the end of series 6 :)

The top ten villains finale

When I Started this series It was because of one reason. My Immense love of the villains of so many series.I adore villains.I love alot of heroes I mean I don't think I need to say my favorite hero is the doctor and megaman zero is a close second. But there is just something so much more fascinating about villains. Why they became evil or why they want to destroy and/or conquer? Why they hate the main hero or why they created an army? Why humanity hates them or why they hate humanity? It's the questions about these beings that really speak leagues about humanity itself.
I Recently had a conversation with a friend of mine comparing why Hitler did what he did and why he hated anyone different then what he thought was perfect.Oddly enough though my thoughts went to the top two on this list actually. The master actually was an eerie comparison to Hitler wanting control and doing anything to achieve it and while I doubt Hitler danced to "I can't decide" By the scissor sisters it's still a spooky comparison.

Then why is it myself and others love the master or scarecrow or the silence? I think it's because somewhere in the human mind people want to learn about the evils they can create to better themselves but then again I'm not a psyche major so maybe this is just me talking out my ass.But while I am enjoying this little rant I should get on with the show. But first I have two things to mention.First of all I want to re-clarify what things make a good villain to me and through this I realize there is five not three like I said earlier.

First the ability to defeat the heroic counterpart.Any villains that can defeat the best hope earth has even only to be defeated again is impressive.I think the two best at doing this list were Dr Weil and the master.they turned the two heroes I find the most heroic and incredible into mice scurrying for their lives and my god does that say something

Second is the ability to outsmart the hero.I know this is insanely similar to the first but It does count to me even if they don't really beat them.the master and kuja had the heroes spinning around trying to figure out what in gods name the villain was planning while they were getting ahead the whole time.

Third is intimidation.the ability to create fear among the populace and create havoc making it just that much harder for the hero to accomplish their job.The scarecrow is one of the best examples of this literally having his ability be creating fear and havoc among the populace.

The fourth is put simply iconic imagery. How they stand out against other similar villains and how their face stays with the public eye.The cybermen were the first one to really have this work for them and number one has this going in spades as well.

Last is style. What I consider to be a certain kind of villain. It's hard to explain what I think of as style but think of it this way. It's why scarecrow is so high on the list and why kuja instead of kefka is on the list. It's basically what makes this MY list not someone else's

The second thing I wanna mention is the list of some villains that didn't quite make the list.

•Beatrice from umineko.A great villain but the series makes it kind of hard to fully get what's going on with her.plus she seems off from my style.
•Carnage from spider man. A savage lunatic.the ultimate insanity indeed but really that's all he is but in fairness he does it well
•The Sontarans from doctor who. While very iconic and powerful they....look like Mr potato head gone wrong and then some.
•The Silurians from doctor who. Also great but not really evil just rebellious.
•kefka from final fantasy 6.A great villian but the best example of style.he just doesn't click with me personally.
•Gangers from doctor who.Again an incredible character but another case of not really evil

....And ladies and gentlemen we are at the big moment. When the master woke up from being resurrected he saw one thing taking the time lord cruciform....uh click the read more thing cause this post will be huge

The top 10 Villains #2 The Master

Oh god. These next two were the one's that were going back and forth all the time.I mean when I wrote number five I had just settled it these two are close. But enough of my indecisiveness and my god let me tell you about the master.

Psychotic,Insane, violent, and unpredictable.......And I'd still vote for him over bush

Originally known as koschei the master was actually the doctor's best friend when they were children, but when the time lord right of passage to stare into the untempered schism(A tear in the fabric of time) while some would become stronger he went insane.A drum beat was implanted inside of his head by time lord rassilon in the far future to escape a time lock but at the time the only thing it truly caused was koschei's insanity.

When the doctor ran off koschei was told to go after him with a spy following the master to make sure he did his job but due to his fixation with a powerful device called the dark heart device and the Revelation he was being spied on the last good in him died and he fully became the master.

He and the doctor would fight back and forth through multiple regenerations but my favorite two of the master are roger Delgado and john simm. For roger Delgado All I need to show is his photo

Look at that he pretty much coined the term devil beard I love it

However the form I have the most appreciation for is john simm. After the previous form of the master locked himself in the tardis and regenerated the 6th master traveled back to modern day Britain and used the name Harold Saxon and his intellect to become minister of defence and eventually prime minister of great Britain. That alone is really impressive when you think about it. But in control of the tardis he managed to convince a woman soon to be his wife to help him and using the tardis as a paradox machine similar to the dark heart machine (as far as I can tell anyway) he managed to convert the human race at the end of the universe into small metal flying balls with spikes and lazers.Which leads to one of the most awesome moments in sci fi history

HE CRACKS OPEN THE SKY TO SEND MILLIONS OF TOCLAFANE TO EARTH EXTINCTING 10% OF THE POPULATION!!!

Holy S**t this is just incredible.I mean the actual act is impressive but the image it leaves in your mind is just unreal. And it's not over yet at the end of the episode he has the doctor aged 100 years and incapacitated and the entire world is under his control he says one of the best evil speeches I've ever heard

"So it came to pass, that the human race fell... and the Earth was no more. And I looked down upon my new dominion, as Master of all, and I thought it... good"

That alone the massive defeat of the doctor the way how he used his own enemies vehicle and home to a massive disadvantage and even destroyed the human race with the human race.that really says it all of why He's one of the greatest villains of all time. Why is he number two then? Well I'm not a huge fan of the end of time version not that a psychotic cannaballistic lighting shooting super hobo version of the master isn't unbeliavably awesome but the fact that he kind of saved the world albeit inadvertendly but still plus there is something that scared him when the time lords revived the master for the time war for when he saw what they were fighting against he ran and suffice it to say number one is what He ran from.

The top 10 villains #3 Scarecrow

When I first started this I only really knew of 3 characters that would be on the list. The top three are more or less the reason I started this and scarecrow is definitely one of my favorite villains of all time and my god does he deserve more panel time.

Johnathan crane was a professor of psychology and usually this is where I say but something bad happens to him but scarecrow is a different story. He became obsessed with the study of fear and eventually started doing experiments on normal humans with a fear toxin. He got fired and started doing it freelance or as most people call it psychological torture or a crime. The mask whether the Cillian Murphy version from batman begins or the more scarecrow looking one is usually because he uses it as intimidation and as an amplified effect for his fear toxin

Why is he above guys like the silence or Alexia? Put simply his way of thinking is something for villains. In his mind He's not doing good or evil just his simple experiments which have taken his life over. The simplicity of that and yet just how much fear and pain he can cause is amazing and just how he looks and acts can be incredible to watch. My favorite version of which is probably the arkham asylum version.

I mean look at this guy he has hypodermic needles as fingers.....Jeez@.@

I could describe what I think of each of the versions of him but I'll describe all of them in one.....Awesome but my god what a way to make him look like a wuss at the end there.I mean think about it how did batman begins end for him? How did Arkham end for him.....BADLY!!

This is why he's here but he deserves to be higher I just can't put him above the next two with those endings to him in the larger stories.Plus I haven't seen scarecorw episodes of the animated series in a while so I can't say anything there.I do love this guy though so I'm really hoping if he's in arkham city He'll end off better but I don't think he is(Which I hate since the freakouts were awesome in asylum)

The top 10 villains #4 The silence

My favorite series of doctor who in total is series 5 the first season of matt smith's run,and one of the main things that haunted you throughout it was one line that continued but was never answered. The single best example was when river in the tardis trying to figure out why it wasn't responding and an eerie crack appears in the monitor and one of the most sinister voices I've heard says one line.....

This Line just about drove every doctor who theorist insane as to what the silence meant.I still follow a theory involving the voice that After being treated as a prisoner davros created a new race to control the daleks but I'm getting ahead of myself. But in the two parter opening of series 6 the impossible astronaut and day of the moon we were given an answer.

Well it aint davros Unless he learned to walk and got uglier.....somehow

First of all the setup in brilliant and alone it deserves a spot for that.....were this a setup list.I wasn't sold at first but as things continued I started to love these guys just by the appearance. The formality of the suit and how simple and normal it looks offput by the seriously messed up face and hands of these creatures.Steve moffat said a bit of the appearance was inspired by the painting "The scream" and you can easily see it.But that was where these things started getting really cool. The concept for them is the reason they're here.Once you see them and look away you forget you ever saw them.

Oh also they shoot lightning but that's a bonus.

There is more though. They can also give subliminal messages when someone sees them because the act of memory erasure when looking away leaves a residual effect and allows them to effectively control every human on earth and think about this.As far as we know these creatures have been on earth until 1969 and for ages before so think about that. The doctor traveled before that and never once cought on to them because of their powers they may have literally influenced things in the doctor's past.I know the dalek invasion was erased from time but as far as we know that was all and I have a theory there too but that's for another time.

The silence aren't done yet in this season of doctor who starting back next week (With let's kill hitler.....I freaking love this show) so I'll give a little edit and possibly move the number of the silence after that but they had to deserve a spot just for existing and that says alot about the silence

EDIT: And after the wedding of river song I can do a full review on them......not that much really changed. While the actual name of the creatures is debatable being they're just members of the religious order called the silence. While I admit they were pretty sadistic to rory but really not much changed.Though they did do a nice fourth wall breakage calling rory the man who dies and dies again.

I am tempted to do a bit on kovarian the apparent leader of the silence but I really don't know that much other then she is one sadistic woman and with work she could become as big as the master or the daleks but not for a few seasons anyway.

Maybe in a few years I'll do a redo of the list to update it but for now the silence stays at number 4
